Vector Studio · In-house product · Brand & Digital Product

The map of Spain’s
vintage trade.

Vinté+ isn’t a peer-to-peer flea market: it’s the directory of second-hand and vintage shops that actually exist, with an address, opening hours and someone behind the counter who knows what decade a garment is from. Brand, app, website and management dashboard, designed and built entirely in-house.

01 — The Project

Getting people through
the shop door.

Online second-hand has become an ocean of photos taken on a bed. Meanwhile the vintage shops with real curation —the ones that select, repair and can date a garment— stay invisible beyond their own street. Vinté+ exists to flip that: a shop catalogues a piece once and it shows up on the map, in the directory, on the shop’s own website and at the counter.

The most important product decision is what it doesn’t do: there is no cart and no sales commission. The purchase happens in the shop. Vinté+ takes on the boring work —cataloguing, photographing, publishing, syncing— and returns real footfall. The only thing that travels is the hold: 48 hours reserved, nothing paid up front.

Map and directory

Geographic discovery: shops by city and neighbourhood, sorted by proximity, each with address, opening hours and a live shop window.

Garment page

Size, decade, measurements, condition and a resolved brand. Every piece is one of one, so the page behaves like an inventory, not a size chart.

48-hour hold

The piece is held for 48 hours with nothing paid. It’s the only commitment in the system, and the one that turns a tap on a phone into a visit to the shop.

AI cataloguing

A photo goes in and a listing comes out: background cut-out, written description and brand resolution against a canonical catalogue with aliases and variants.

Dashboard and counter

Vinté+ Business: catalogue, holds, stats, imports and POS. Whatever sells at the counter disappears from every shop window on its own.

iOS and Android app

A single native app for both platforms, sharing business rules and design tokens with the web through a monorepo.

02 — Brand System

A hanging tag
as the symbol.

The symbol is the Window Tag: a textile hang tag locked to a 3:4 ratio, with a centred eyelet, a window that acts as the master container for every product image, and the Spectrum finishing the base. It’s built on a unit u = height/12, so radii, margins and small-size degradation are specified rather than improvised.

The wordmark is always lowercase and always accented —«Vinte+» without the accent isn’t the brand— vectorised in Bricolage 800 with a shortened tilde and a redrawn “+”. The “+” is the only element allowed to carry colour.

Side A · Shoppers

PAPER AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Light, editorial, large imagery. Discovery, not conversion. Paper 62% · Ink 22% · photography 11% · accent under 5%.

Side B · Business

INK AND DENSITY

The shop dashboard is a tool: dark ground, dense tables, no campaign photography. Same components; only the semantic colour layer is reassigned.

The neutrals are warm and extremely low in chroma, with two absolute rules: never #FFFFFF and never #000000. Accent colour lives in the Spectrum —four tints in oklch sharing lightness and chroma, varying only in hue— and is used with discipline: one tint per view. All four appear together only in the symbol, the base rule of covers, progress bars and the verified-shop seal.

Display

Bricolage Grotesque

Headlines, large figures and shop names. Never below 20px and never in body copy.

Interface and text

Archivo

All UI and all body copy: 80% of the typographic work in the product.

Data

JetBrains Mono

Decades, sizes, prices and coordinates. Tabular figures are mandatory in tables and counters.

03 — Brand Book

Fifty-three pages that leave
nothing to taste.

The system is closed in a 53-page normative document: it doesn’t describe the brand, it specifies it. Every rule carries its number —the unit the symbol is built on, the contrast ratio of each authorised pair, the size at which the Spectrum disappears— and every prohibition is drawn, not merely stated.

It’s organised in four parts for four different readers: The brand (purpose, positioning, values), Identity (symbol, colour, type, graphic devices, photography and voice), Applications (stationery, hang tag, outdoor, social) and Product, which is already tokens, components and screens ready to implement as they are.

04 — Product

Four screens
and no cash register.

The app answers two questions: where are the shops near me, and what’s inside. The map uses the tag itself as its marker, with a walking route to the chosen shop; the list sorts by proximity; the feed shows each garment inside the system’s window; and the hold closes with the only thing that travels, a code and a 48-hour countdown. There is no payment gateway because payment isn’t Vinté+’s business.

05 — The Website

vinte.plus:
the front door.

The public site does two different jobs and never mixes them. For shoppers it is discovery: the shop directory with its filters in the URL —so a search can be shared as it is— and the same app screens drawn live, showing what the app does before anyone installs it. For shop owners it is a commercial proposition: what it costs, what it includes, and what it will never do.

It’s built in Next.js on the same token layer as the app, so Side A —paper, large photography, editorial— and the dashboard’s Side B come out of one system without duplicating a single design decision.

06 — Architecture

Three planes
that never mix.

The most expensive decision to reverse in a product isn’t a screen or a colour: it’s where each thing lives. Vinté+ separates the system of record, the compute and the outputs, under one rule: anything that can be recomputed goes on our own server; anything that, once lost, never comes back goes in the record.

01 · SYSTEM OF RECORD

Supabase

Accounts, row-level permissions, garments, prices and holds. This is the truth of the business, so it lives where there is auth, backups and point-in-time recovery.

02 · BYTES AND COMPUTE

Own server

Photos, cut-outs, upscaling and search fingerprints. Processing images through an API costs ten to twenty cents each; here it costs nothing on top of a fixed fee already paid.

03 · OUTPUTS

App, sites and POS

No output keeps a catalogue of its own: they all read from the record and request images from the byte plane. If a shop window kept its own copy, nobody would know which one is right.

07 — Outcome

One listing,
five shop windows.

Vinté+ is in pilot in Valencia with the real catalogue of its first shops and the app in internal distribution for iOS and Android. The brand system is closed in a 53-page brand book with exported tokens, so the app, the public site and the dashboard literally share the same colour, type and spacing values.
